The deployment of optical amplifiers enables DWDM transmissions over extended distances. The Lambdaamp family of products includes two different types of amplifiers, boosters as well as intermediate line amplifiers.

The Lambdaamp line of products consists of broadband EDFA amplifiers (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifiers) and can be used for the simultaneous, protocol transparent transmission of up to 40 DWDM wavelengths.
